How I flipped my life the way you flip a coin.
I bet you are like me: you hate watching trashy TV in the evening and would rather work on something beneficial. Now the problem is not being able to do something constructive, but the main issue is making sure you are progressing at all.
After years of fighting procrastination and ability to focus on one thing and take it to completion, I hit a block that read ‘you will never progress in what you do’. What I mean is you do something for long hours, days or even months and you seem not to see any progress to it. Believe me, it can be frustrating. But I have come to realize that the problem comes in when you want to do everything perfectly.
Murphy’s law states that, “Anything that can go wrong, will” so do not spend most of your life trying to fix every problem that comes your way. Sometimes you are better off moving forward, you forget about it and try not to repeat the same mistake twice, if it is a business mistake and might come crawling your back later, you are better off delegating off to someone than being stuck.
Billionaire Warren Buffett once said, “sometimes you are better off buying a new boat than spending all your money trying to repair a sinking one.” Not exact wording but something close to that. That’s why I like hoping for the best and expecting the worst, so when the worst happens you are under no pressure to give up or worst of all complain.
You must stop expecting perfection…either from yourself or your employees or you clients or even your family members. It will never happen. Life isn’t a calm pond…it’s a predictable ocean. So, you want to hone your navigation skills, to weather storms, rough seas and smooth sailing with the same Buddha-like attitude.
